Restyling keeps the content of a photo and changes how it looks: the same person, the same pose, the same room, rendered as a watercolour, an anime frame or a pencil sketch. Upload the image, pick a style and generate — the style becomes a look instruction applied to the picture you gave, not a new picture from scratch.
What survives a restyle and what does not
Composition, pose and layout survive. Fine detail does not: freckles, small logos, text on a label and the exact pattern of a fabric are re-drawn rather than preserved. That is the trade, and it is why restyling a family photo works beautifully while restyling a document does not.
Faces are the sensitive case. Expect a likeness rather than a photograph — close enough to recognise, not close enough to pass as the same person in every style. Illustrated styles are more forgiving here than photorealistic ones.

Getting a specific result
The style sets the direction; your words set the rest. Add what the style cannot know: "keep the original colours", "make the background simpler", "warmer palette". If you only want part of the picture restyled — the sky as a painting, the subject left alone — mark that area with the brush and the change stays inside it, exactly as described in changing one marked area.
